Karen Wadson

Licensed Psychologist

I am a Registered Psychologist located in central Calgary. Areas of specialization include trauma (EMDR), anxiety, and eating disorders.

About Me

I understand the profound impact trauma, anxiety, and eating disorders can have on daily life. As a Registered Psychologist, I offer a supportive space to collaboratively explore these challenges. Using evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, I help you navigate difficult experiences and build lasting coping strategies. My aim is to guide you towards greater well-being and stability. We can work together to help you reclaim a sense of calm and control.

Approach

Specializing in trauma, anxiety, and eating disorders shapes how I structure sessions so they feel focused, paced, and gentle rather than overwhelming. In my central Calgary office, in English, we alternate shorter skill-building work with deeper EMDR processing when you’re ready, and I often suggest small between-session experiments to test new coping choices. Sessions are practical and reflective, tracking patterns alongside emotions. This approach tends to suit adolescents and adults who want steady progress without rushing the process.
