Amy Melchor

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Amy offers trauma-informed, radically accepting care that meets clients where they are. As a queer, neurodivergent, first-gen Mexican woman, she creates space for all parts of the self—holding pain and humor with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for survival.

About Me

Amy deeply understands the journey of self-discovery, particularly for queer, neurodivergent, or first-generation clients. She guides individuals and families to explore their unique experiences. Her radically accepting, trauma-informed approach means you can bring your whole self. From pain to humour, every part of your story is welcome here. Amy fosters a safe space, helping you connect with inner resilience and genuine warmth.

Approach

Where curiosity and steady support meet, I guide sessions with gentle pacing and practical check-ins so you feel steadier between appointments. In my Manhattan Beach office and online, in English, we name how past hurts show up now, try concrete experiments for anxiety, mood shifts, relationships, and map small changes that build safety inside and around you. I balance listening with short reflections, invitations to practice, and clear pacing so progress feels manageable. People navigating identity, transitions, or family tensions often find this way of working grounding.
