About Me

As a Child & Adolescent Psychologist, I specialise in supporting young people. My work focuses on intercountry adoption, foster care, and difficulties related to trauma or attachment. My PhD research offers deep insight into these complex areas. I create a safe, gentle space where children can explore their feelings and build resilience. This approach helps families understand their child's emotional world, fostering security and connection.

Approach

To turn understanding into everyday change, I structure sessions around a steady rhythm: brief check-ins followed by age‑sensitive activities and time to reflect with caregivers. I work face‑to‑face in Bilthoven and Utrecht, using Dutch, English or German, and match pacing to each child or adolescent’s developmental needs. We use play, storytelling and focused conversation to map triggers, practise calming strategies and try small experiments; between sessions I offer pragmatic suggestions families can use at home. This approach often helps families in adoption or foster transitions who want clear, manageable steps toward safety.
