About Me
Approach
I work from a person-centred approach which is integrative and trauma informed.
A trauma informed approach seeks to develop an awareness of the widespread impact of negative experiences (trauma) on life experience and relationships through psycho-education. It recognises that a person's outlook, emotions and behaviour are influenced by their history. It can be applied to anyone not just to people with obvious serious trauma histories.
The counselling process should be a collaboration between the counsellor and client. Every client's needs are different and require an individualised approach to reaching the goals set. I believe in a holistic approach to problem solving that takes into consideration physical health, who the client is and at what stage of their lives they are in, and, the social and cultural contexts that they are from, while drawing on existing strengths to achieve self-growth and wellness.

Providing counselling to adults in the UK for trauma, stress and grief. While I may integrate different approaches, my work is underpinned by a person-centred approach which is integrative and trauma informed. I work mostly with stress, anxiety and coping, relationship issues, trauma, grief, pregnancy loss and terminal diagnosis in pregnancy, and coping with life changes in general.
I provide counselling for people who have many different problems. I have worked with healthcare workers balancing work and home life, professionals and business owners who have never had the chance to deal with past traumas or relationship difficulties, women who have experienced pregnancy loss, cancer patients, moms, dads or young adults who are having trouble with managing difficult relationships or the stresses of life.
I am a professionally trained counsellor with a rich academic and practical background. I run a busy private practice offering both online and face-to-face sessions from a central town location. I am also actively involved in volunteer work, supporting a charity that provides mental health assistance to military veterans and facilitating free peer support groups for fellow counsellors and psychotherapists. I am fully insured, ICO registered, enhanced DBS checked, and accredited on the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society’s Accredited Register, along with holding a Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.
I continue to update my skills via workshops and CPD courses in areas such as Grief, Pregnancy Loss, DBT, and the latest trauma treatment certifications, including the Rewind Technique.
Maintaining mental and emotional wellness is an important part of optimal functioning. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about my counselling services at https://corinnecrawford.co.uk/ My fees are adjusted annually, and I offer reduced rates for under 25’s.
