Verified

Through my work, I aim to help clients develop self-insight, heal from past trauma, and build long-term resilience and meaningful personal transformation. I strive to provide a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their struggles and feel supported on their healing journey.

About Me

I’m Damini Nayak, a therapist based in Bangalore. I hold an MA in Applied Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and I work with adults, individuals, couples and families in both online and in-person settings. Being in the field of psychology has never just been a profession for me — it reflects a deep belief in going to the root of what people experience, while holding empathy and understanding. I see human struggles as inherently social, shaped by the environments we live in, which naturally draws me toward creating healthier ecosystems. My work spans individual therapy, life-skills training, psychoeducation, and community mental health initiatives. I especially enjoy offering psychoeducation, because I see knowledge as a powerful tool to reduce stigma and empower people. Outside the therapy room, I am usually building a mountain of books I want to read someday, petting friendly animals on the street, taking slow walks in the mountains, or happily finding the next good meal to devour. These little joys keep me grounded and remind me of the simple, meaningful things that shape all of us.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and person-centered, deeply rooted in trauma-informed care. I combine talk therapy with somatic practices — addressing both emotional and bodily dimensions of mental health. By creating a compassionate, non-judgmental environment, I support clients through complex emotions, facilitating healing not only on a cognitive level but also at deeper, embodied levels. Over time, I help clients build tools and self-reliance, enabling them to manage triggers and challenges independently — fostering self-sufficiency, growth, and long-term wellbeing.

My core services include counselling, psychotherapy, psychoeducation, stress management, and integrative therapy — all grounded in trauma-informed care. I aim to provide a supportive, empowering space for clients to explore their struggles, heal emotional wounds, build resilience, and reclaim balance and meaning in their lives.
