Dr Amos Keya Alumada (PhDMFT)

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

I work from a systemic perspective which relies heavily on a postmodern worldview. I value cultural humility which values an interpersonal stance that is other-oriented rather than self-focused concerning the cultural background and lived experience of my clients.

About Me

I help couples and families explore their challenges from a systemic perspective. My practice centres on cultural humility, focusing on your unique background and lived experience. This creates a truly respectful space where your story is heard. Clients navigating complex family dynamics or cultural differences find this approach invaluable. We work together to foster deeper understanding and connection.

Approach

Working systemically, I attend to relationships and patterns as the route to change, privileging an interpersonal stance that honours your cultural context and personal story. Sessions in Nairobi or via secure online video—in English or Kiswahili—feel paced and practical: we map interactions, name recurring dynamics, and gently test small shifts together. Between meetings I often invite brief reflections or real-world experiments so you can see what changes and what holds. This way of working tends to suit couples, families and individuals facing complex cultural or relational challenges.
