Hi, If you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that don’t feel good anymore, you don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. Therapy with me is a space to slow down and understand what’s happening beneath the surface. I work relationally, paying attention to how your experiences shape your emotions, relationships, and the choices you make. My aim is to offer a steady, supportive space where you can feel heard, gain clarity, and start making choices that truly support your well-being.

About Me

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” — Carl R. Rogers This belief in acceptance and relational safety is the heartbeat of my practice. I am Esther Sylvia, a Counselling Psychologist (M.Sc.) and member of the South Asian Association of Transactional Analysts (SAATA). My professional journey has been shaped by diverse experiences, from supporting survivors of domestic violence and burn injuries at PCVC to working with children with learning difficulties. These roles taught me the profound resilience of the human spirit and the necessity of a safe, non-judgmental container for healing. When I’m not in the therapy room, you can find me tending to my plants, spending time with dogs, or getting lost in a good book.

Approach

My Therapeutic Approach I view therapy through the lens of storytelling. I am deeply curious about the narratives we carry—how our histories, cultures, and family backgrounds shape the way we move through the world. My approach is relational and eclectic, grounded strongly in Transactional Analysis (TA). This means we won't just look at symptoms; we will look at the "scripts" you’ve been living by and the larger systems (socio-economic, gender, and cultural) that impact your mental health. I specialize in supporting adults with: Anxiety and Depression Grief and Loss Trauma and Emotional Regulation Relational and Attachment issues Major Life Transitions I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels safe and respectful to you. If you feel like we might be a good fit, you are warmly welcome to reach out.
