Ms Hayley Whitehorn

Counseling Psychologist

I work mainly with adolescents and young adults, from all backgrounds, and I aim to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming space where we work together to build a happier and healthier life. I integrate different approaches drawing from Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

About Me

I understand that navigating adolescence and young adulthood can bring unique challenges. I aim to create a truly welcoming space where we work together to build a happier, healthier life. We explore your thoughts and feelings, drawing on practical tools from approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. This collaborative approach helps young people from all backgrounds discover their strengths and find a positive path forward.

Approach

I help you notice and gently challenge patterns that keep you feeling stuck, using clear, manageable steps so change feels achievable. Sessions are offered in English from Sandton and online, in a calm, focused rhythm that matches your pace. Some meetings emphasise practical skill-building and short experiments, others slow down to process grief, urges, or relationship hurts, with simple between-session reflections when helpful. This way of working tends to suit adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, addiction, major transitions or questions of identity.
