Ms Heather Snyman

Registered Counselor

Registered Counsellor ( Trauma ) and EMDR Therapist

About Me

I help individuals process and move beyond the weight of past trauma, guiding them towards a more stable and peaceful present. Using techniques like EMDR, we can gently explore difficult memories and find new ways to cope. My approach as a Registered Counsellor focuses on creating a safe, understanding space where you can feel truly heard. This helps clients build resilience and reclaim their well-being.

Approach

By combining EMDR with steady, paced conversation, therapy unfolds in small, manageable steps that keep you present and in control. Sessions in English are held from Alberton and online, and we set a gentle rhythm—short check-ins, targeted reprocessing, and practical coping strategies to try between meetings. I focus on bodily safety, clear pacing and collaborative planning so memories can be approached without overwhelm. This way of working often suits adolescents and adults seeking steady, practical support through grief, abuse recovery or life transitions.
