Katherine Mackenzie

Registered Psychotherapist

My practice is focused on providing evidence-based treatment to adults who have experienced trauma, specifically those who have complex trauma or treatment resistant symptoms. I integrate the latest research and neuroscience, using both top-down (talk therapy) and bottom-up (somatic therapy) to better support clients

About Me

I support adults navigating the deep impact of complex or persistent trauma. When past experiences feel overwhelming or stuck, I offer a dedicated space. My approach blends talk therapy with somatic techniques, honouring the latest neuroscience. This dual focus helps clients process difficult memories and find lasting relief in both mind and body.

Approach

You’ll often notice therapy shifting between thinking and felt-sense work so memories and reactions can be explored where they actually occur — in story, image and sensation. I offer sessions in Toronto and online in English, keeping a steady, paced rhythm that balances reflection with small, practical experiments. Together we use guided noticing, creative expression and gentle somatic tasks to loosen stuck patterns, test new responses, and integrate insights between sessions. This way of working tends to help adults who’ve been held back by persistent trauma.
