Ms Lisa Headings

Pre-Licensed Therapist

If talking about your life hasn’t changed how it actually feels to live it, expressive arts therapy offers another way in. This work supports women dealing with chronic stress, burnout, anxiety, identity shifts, and emotional fatigue — especially when overthinking or self-monitoring has become a survival skill. Instead of focusing on fixing or performing wellness, the work centers on reconnecting with your internal signals and creative intelligence, so change can happen in a way that’s lived, not just understood.

About Me

Working together looks different than traditional therapy. There is room to think, feel, move, make, and pause — not just talk things through. You don’t need to explain yourself perfectly or arrive with a clear story. We work with what shows up. This work tends to resonate with women who are capable, thoughtful, and quietly exhausted from adapting to a world where they struggle to feel like they fit in. If you’ve spent years managing yourself, translating your experience, or pushing through because that’s what you know how to do, you’re not alone here. Sessions are collaborative, consent-based, and paced to your system rather than an agenda.

Approach

Expressive arts therapy uses creative processes — such as visual art, writing, movement, imagination, and symbolic exploration — as the primary language of therapy. You don’t need to be artistic, and nothing is judged, interpreted, or analyzed for meaning. Talking can be part of the work, but it isn’t the only tool. Creative processes help bypass constant analysis and access information that lives outside of words. This can be especially supportive if you’ve learned to intellectualize, mask, or stay “functional” even when something isn’t working anymore. The goal isn’t catharsis or quick insight. It’s creating space for your system to reorganize in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.
