Mr Sean Meggeson

Psychotherapist (Registered)

I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy for those who wish to increase their awareness of self and in relationships. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy seeks to make sense of the past in order to make the present and future more alive. My personal and clinical core values are compassion, honesty and trust.

About Me

I work with individuals seeking to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. In psychoanalytic psychotherapy, we gently make sense of past experiences, uncovering how they influence your present. This process helps increase self-awareness, allowing you to live a more alive and fulfilling future. My approach is built on core values of compassion, honesty, and trust, offering a grounded space for exploration.

Approach

Work proceeds as attentive exploration, tracing how early attachments and painful events shape present feelings and relationships. In my Toronto office and via secure online sessions in English, we move at a thoughtful, steady pace—noticing patterns in moment-to-moment reactions, gently naming painful beliefs, and sometimes using short reflections between meetings to deepen insight. This way of working attends to how shame, trauma, anxiety or autistic experience show up in everyday life. People seeking clearer understanding of recurring difficulties often find this approach helpful.
