Mrs Sheila Selfe

Licensed Clinical Social Workers

I have many years' experience in the mental health profession and specialise in providing help and support to adults and older adolescents.

About Me

I offer dedicated help and support to adults and older adolescents, drawing on many years of experience in mental health. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I aim to create a calm, collaborative space where you can explore challenges without judgment. We can work together at your own pace to understand difficult feelings and develop practical strategies. This approach helps you navigate life's complexities and build lasting well-being.

Approach

When difficulties surface I focus on gentle structure and clear goals so you can make sense of upsetting thoughts and feelings. In sessions in Cape Town or online, in English, we move at a pace you set, using practical exercises, reflective listening and problem-solving to manage anxiety, mood shifts, stress and the impact of chronic illness or trauma. Between meetings I suggest small, doable tasks and safety planning when needed, and we review what helped so the work stays relevant. This way of working often helps people seeking steady, collaborative support through transition or burnout.
