Psychologist

I am an empathetic and supportive psychologist in Rotterdam, offering therapy both in-person and online, in English and Portuguese. I help clients with anxiety, depression, burnout, low self-esteem, and more. Let's work together to navigate life's difficulties and achieve personal growth.

About Me

I am a Psychologist (Psycholoog NIP) in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. I offer counseling and online therapy. I work with clients on life transitions, anger, conduct issues, stress, and mood disorders.

Approach

As a psychologist, my goal is to guide you in regaining control over your life by learning new strategies to manage difficult thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I believe that all types of behavior, even the most dysfunctional ones, serve a purpose. My empathy and curiosity will help you view your experiences not as defective but in terms of their purpose and workability. Together, we’ll explore what’s preventing you from living your best life and develop evidence-based strategies to improve your overall well-being.

If you wonder about my approach, I would like to start by saying that every therapist has their own style of practice. In my case, I work with a holistic view of mental health, which means I keep a broad perspective when working with clients and try to consider the many facets of what makes you, you - including your physical, social, and spiritual well-being, as well as your age, gender, nationality, language, culture, life experiences, and beliefs. All of these factors are important and influence our choices and how we interact with the world.

Therefore, I work with each client differently. There is no “one-size-fits-all” intervention. Renowned psychologist Carl Jung once said: "Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul". This is an excellent reflection of my style as a therapist.

Additionally, I utilize a combination of different approaches that I have been qualified for, combined with an evidence-based approach. That means I use the best available scientific evidence aligned with my clinical knowledge and expertise while considering your unique needs and personal preferences. Moreover, I provide support with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and I Client-Centred Approach.

As we work together, it's important to remember that therapy is a team effort. For therapy to be truly effective, much of the work happens outside of our sessions. I encourage my clients to actively engage in the process, apply what we discuss, and communicate openly about the challenges they face. Our collaboration is key—if one part of the team isn't fully engaged, it can impact our progress toward your goals. By working together, we can navigate obstacles and ensure you get the most out of your therapy experience.
