About Me
Approach
My name is Dr. Suzanna Chen. I am an M.D. psychiatrist and I run a private boutique practice in NYC. My specialties are psychodynamic and CBT psychotherapy. I can also provide medication management to supplement psychotherapy only IF and WHEN it is appropriate or medically necessary.
I have a special interest in building confidence, improving work-life balance, supporting people in demanding jobs, maneuvering relationships (including interracial and intercultural relationships), and navigating culture and identity.
I take a warm and collaborative approach to help you live a happier and more fulfilling life. I have been dedicated to helping individuals explore and overcome things holding them back from reaching their full potential and enjoying life. I have experience seeing a variety of clients including medical students from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, undergraduate and graduate students from Fordham University Lincoln Center Counseling and Psychological Services in Manhattan, as well as many other clients at different stages of their lives and with a variety of goals. In residency I was trained in individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and medication management.
